Consulting
Project Date: 2016
Client: University of Maryland, Baltimore
Type of Work: Consulting
Between June 2016 and the present, we have examined and measured 115 elevators for the University of Maryland, Baltimore, a 71-acre research and technology complex— consisting of schools of Dentistry, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work, and a Graduate School—located in downtown Baltimore, 7.5 million sq ft. We examined and measured each unit for quality in regard to general condition, maintenance, repair, and code compliance, and identified the need for a campus-wide monitoring system with the capability of providing real-time reports of equipment status along with data capturing for future reference, which we are assisting the University in implementing. Additionally, we are assisting the University with the development of specifications for elevator modernizations as well as preventative maintenance.
